Our talented Chagrin Falls bus drivers recently put their skills to the test at the Northeast Regional Road-E-O competition ! 🚌✨
Aligned with the laws that govern Ohio bus drivers, they competed in events like Hands-On Pre-Trip Inspection, Left Side Student Pick Up and Drop Off Event, Forward and Reverse Serpentine Event, Turn Around Event, and Diminishing Clearance Event. Programs like this highlight the incredible professionalism, skill, and attention to safety that our transportation team brings to the road.🚦👏

🌎🐾 This weekend, the Chagrin Falls Alumni Association teamed up with our amazing ChaGreen Environmental Club students for a community clean-up in the Village!
Thanks to Jana Young for coordinating CFAA volunteers and to Brittany Laseak for rallying our student helpers. Together, they picked up trash in parking lots and public spaces, making a visible difference and having a great time along the way!

Gurney Elementary recently rolled out the welcome mat for six visiting educators from Tallmadge Elementary School! The day was packed with vibrant classroom visits and inspiring professional learning as the Tallmadge team explored Gurney’s innovative approach to personalized learning.
The spotlight was on student empowerment, seeing firsthand how Gurney students are encouraged to learn at their own pace in environments tailored to support individual growth.
This exciting partnership took root in late 2023, when Personalized Learning & EdTech Specialist Jake Miller connected the two schools as part of a shared journey to bring personalized learning to life.
From idea-sharing to in-class observations, the day was filled with meaningful dialogue, fresh perspectives, and the kind of collaborative spirit that fuels innovation. A true celebration of what’s possible when passionate educators come together with a common goal. 🧡📖

Our 4th graders had a rock-solid day at the Natural History Museum! From fossilized teeth to arrowheads, they explored artifacts that told the story of Ohio’s past.
As part of a hands-on, inquiry-based program, students worked together to uncover the stories of the Indigenous Peoples who lived in Ohio long before 1650. With real and replica artifacts in hand, they compared tools, solved mysteries, and brought history to life.
The adventure didn’t stop there! From playful otters to soaring eagles, the outdoor exhibits were a favorite highlight and the perfect way to end a day full of discovery. 🦦🦅

Guidance in Action at Gurney! 🧡🐯🖤 Mrs. Schluep’s Guidance students teamed up with Mr. Dale Tschappat for a powerful lesson of peer leadership at Gurney Elementary. 🙌 Our 5th grade boys stepped up to assist in a Guidance lesson, building connections and modeling positive behavior. Meanwhile, the 4th grade Kindness Crew took the lead in their own session, spreading messages of empathy, encouragement, and inclusion across the school. High school health students put their knowledge to the test with an interactive review on mental health disorders…and they had to get moving to do it! QR codes were hidden throughout the building, with riddles leading the way. Each code revealed key info: definitions, symptoms, and treatments of various mental health conditions. 🧠🧩
But here’s the twist: students had to think critically about why the QR code was placed in that specific location. Was it near a counselor’s office—a resource for mental health support? Or perhaps in a calm, quiet corner perfect for a reset?
This hands-on review connected classroom learning to real-world resources, empowering students to recognize where and how to seek help. A creative blend of movement, engagement, and meaningful reflection. Nice job Mr. Taddeo!💡💬

During their Q&A session, they asked thoughtful questions about school, football, college, and life. What a powerful reminder of what happens when perseverance meets opportunity!
