On August 10, 2022, the Chagrin Falls Board of Education approved Whitney Garret as the school’s new varsity softball coach. Garrett will replace Greg Munn who led the Tigers for the previous 10 years. Coach Garrett has been an assistant coach for the Chagrin Falls High School softball program for the past three years. Coach Garrett had previously coached at Cardinal High School before coming to Chagrin. She is currently a teacher at the Intermediate School.
Coach Garrett grew up in Garrettsville, Ohio where she began her softball career with the help of her father. She began playing ball in her youth and then finished her career with four years on the James A. Garfield varsity softball team. After high school, she chose to focus on her academics/teaching journey while still pursuing her love for softball through coaching. Coach Garrett attributes the game of softball to helping her to build a mindset which allows her to take on challenges each day with poise and confidence. Throughout the season you will hear her
preach to her girls “I believe. You believe.”
Coach Garrett states, “I am looking forward to another year of growth both for our CFHS varsity team and our youth league student athletes. My hope is that throughout the upcoming years I can spread my love for the game to many and be a part of softball's story here in Chagrin Falls .”
Athletic Director Charlie Barch said, “I am looking forward to working with Coach Garrett. I think she will move the softball program forward in a positive direction. She does a great job in
creating positive relationships with her players.
